HD
System Center is the facility's central machine room.
From here multiple matrix routers control the flow of SMPTE 259
and 292 video, AES audio, RS422 control and KVM to each of the
production work suites. HD System Center houses multiple media
management servers along with host systems for editing and playback
of high definition and standard definition video and audio. The
system utilizes a switched gigabit Ethernet backbone for sharing
production data and is the facility's central fiber optic distribution
point.
Avid Nitris HD Suite
is the primary work area for editing and compositing of high definition
video. Avid DS Nitris 7.5 system featuring multistream 10-and 8 bit Avid DNxHD editing with real-time color correction, effects and DVE. The multi system control console houses 2 high-resolution
flat panel VGA displays, 1 HDTV video monitor and a digital audio
mixer with high quality, near-field, stereo monitoring capability.
Because all systems are accessible from this suite, secondary
uses include recording and mix down of stereo audio, playback
to screening room and DV offline.
Euphonix Mix Suite
is designed for the recording, mix down, ADR and mastering of
audio for picture in Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround sound format.
The multi system Euphonix control console consists of 2 high-resolution
VGA flat panel displays, 1 HDTV video monitor, a surround capable
digital audio console, and a near-field 6.1 surround audio monitoring
system.

HD and 35mm
Screening Room
The HD screening room is comfortably furnished with 30 theatre style seats. The room has two 35mm Simplex HPR-1030 projectors and
is equipped with a 6.1 surround audio monitoring system and a
high definition projector fed by a multi-format video scaler from
HD System Center.
Editorial
Suites
are equipped with DV editing systems connected to a central storage
server in HD System Center. Each suite has stereo audio monitoring
capability and is primarily used for pre-editing functions and
tape logging. Material generated by these suites can be browsed
by any Ethernet connected computer in the building--allowing directors
and others to track work from their production offices or even
from the sound stages. One offline suite, equipped with a multi-system
control console allows offline content to be accessed from other
areas in the facility.
